Today, we're heading to the annual company event at the Burj Khalifa Park, one of the most exciting moments for every employee as it coincides with the announcement of the annual bonus and features some fantastic performances by entertainment groups. The anticipation is high among the employees, but one of my colleagues, who recently got married, won't be attending. His wife is not feeling well due to a backache, and despite some colleagues encouraging him to join the event since it's a rare, once-a-year experience, he faced a dilemma:
- He could leave his wife at home for a couple of hours to attend the event and enjoy the festivities with friends.
- He could skip the event and stay with his wife to take care of her.
I'm glad he chose the second option, prioritizing his family over the event. This choice reflects a family-oriented perspective rather than a self-centered one. My father once advised me that it's okay to miss someone's joyful occasions due to circumstances, but it's crucial to be there for your loved ones during their tough times. The essence of this advice is simple: family comes first. The most valuable asset one can have is strong family relationships. Money and events come and go, but family ties should never be sacrificed for financial or social gains.
We've all seen wealthy families struggling due to strained relationships. It's not wealth but strong family bonds that truly signify happiness. I wish my friend a happy and prosperous life and urge everyone to uphold family ethics. This not only strengthens love, care, and happiness but also fosters a deeper affection in our lives.
